The Honda Prologue has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Ioniq 5 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Prologue and the Ioniq 5 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

For better traction, the Prologue has larger standard tires than the Ioniq 5 (255/60R19 vs. 235/55R19). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Ioniq 5 (275/45R21 vs. 255/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue Elite has standard 21-inch wheels. The Ioniq 5’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Ioniq 5 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 3.7 inches longer than on the Ioniq 5 (121.8 inches vs. 118.1 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 1.7 inches wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Ioniq 5.

The Prologue’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Ioniq 5’s standard passenger windows don’t open or close automatically. With the Ioniq 5 SEL/Limited’s power windows, only the front windows open or close automatically.

The Prologue Elite has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Ioniq 5 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
